Chalk

If I haven't mentioned this before, Forrest LOVES to play with his car toys. Whenever I am outside, he insists on having me draw up this little town with chalk right on our driveway. He climbs up the toy shelves we have in the garage and hands me over the bag of chalk. Him doing this usually means that whatever I am doing is going to take longer and there will be a much bigger mess to clean up but it is totally worth it. It is something fun we do together.
Well, today he got out the chalk bag again.

For you, Forrest!

I was in a hurry to get out of the door to take Summer to school a few days ago. I put Summer in her booster seat and turned around to get Forrest into the car when I heard him yelling for me. I went over to our front porch and saw Forrest setting up his little car toys all over like a car dealership. And boy did he ever look cute.  I quickly took this picture and then I put him in his booster seat and off we went.  So, this is for you Forrest...
I sure love you.

The real reason I broke out the camera that morning... My belated birthday gift arrived. A new camera lens. Thank you, David!

Kure Beach Pier

And to prove I really was with my Summer...

Summer's class had a field trip to the Kure Beach Pier last Friday. Forrest was at preschool so I joined her. Summer went fishing, caught crab moles and touched squid, shrimp and crayfish. She was not at all afraid to hold this blue crab. A girl after my own heart. So fun.

Forrest's First Day of Preschool

Forrest was super excited about going to preschool today. It's his fourth year going to the same preschool so he was not nervous a bit this morning. The class lists came out last week telling him who was in his class and what teacher he was going to get. He hit the jackpot. An amazing teacher and a class packed full of his friends. He was VERY excited about wearing his tie. After I took these pictures Forrest asked if he could run around the driveway so that everyone could see how "handsum" he looked. I couldn't stop smiling. Classic.
